These days when we watch reality shows we have all been conditioned to expect high drama and beautiful people.  The director and producer of person to Person, which takes place in New York City with just one day of “reality” coverage, totally misses this mark.  The movie portrays, extremely ordinary people, most of whom are not very attractive, and who lead very boring lives. This movie was a disjointed showing of groups of two or four people going through their everyday lives in the most boring manner possible with no plot, no excitement and no redeeming quality and no reason for having been made.

The reason for most people to go to a movie is to be taken away from their own everyday boring, stressful and many times uneventful lives, and to spend an hour or more being taken away into a happy place, or an adventurous place or a fantasy place so that they can escape their own hum drum lives.  The movie, Person to Person, does no such thing.  In fact it only adds to the tedium of life.  As life is finite, to waste one’s time watching this movie is to have wasted 84 minutes of precious time.

Over the course of a windy day in Manhattan, PERSON TO PERSON follows the lives of an eclectic cast of characters on a seemingly normal day. From a jazz buff record dealer, a youth style journalist, a crime reporter with her trainee, a depressive houseguest, and a repairman – this amalgamation of characters never cross paths but rather are brought together by the city, focusing on the appreciation of otherwise overlooked emotional triumphs.
