Best-Selling Author and Publisher C M Rubin reflects on the disruption to the publishing businesses since 2010 when her book, The Real Alice in Wonderland, was originally launched to coincide with Disney’s Alice in Wonderland film.

C. M. Rubin is the author of The Real Alice in Wonderland book that goes back into Barnes and Noble stores this month to coincide with the release of Alice Through the Looking Glass, Disney’s motion picture sequel to Alice in Wonderland. The Disney film opens in cinemas nationally on May 27. Rubin and her daughter who co-authored The Real Alice In Wonderland book are related to the real Alice – Alice Liddell – the young girl who inspired Lewis Carroll to write the story for her. The mother and daughter team opted for a unique treatment in their 2010 biography that Barnes and Noble initially launched and promoted in their book stores nationally when the original Disney film was released.

Since 2010, book publishing has undergone a significant transformation, fueled by the growth of the internet and high-speed printing presses. No one has written more about that those changes from the point of view of publishers, retailers, authors and marketers than best-selling author and publisher, C. M. Rubin. In a new article, Rubin reveals why she believes The Real Alice In Wonderland book is still successful 5 years after it was published.

Rubin comments: “So much has changed in book publishing over the years. Every young person I know wants to write a book. Today, however, there are new publishing models and there are also new skills required to publish a book.”
