FOXTAILS BRIGADE NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM OUT TODAY
APRIL 8TH, ON OIM RECORDS AND ON RALLYE IN JAPAN
NOW STREAMING IN FULL ON BAEBLE
ON TOUR THIS SPRING
“With their fusion of baroque pop, eclectic rock, and hints of classical flourishes, San Francisco pop-rockers Foxtails Brigade are making us very happy.”
– Baeble
“In each song off the upcoming self-titled third album… the band melds acoustic guitar with horns and strings to create experimental freak-folk even Joanna Newsom would approve of.”
– SF Weekly
“For their third proper album, the band pulls out all the stops to bring forth Foxtails Brigade’s ecstatic visions that run the continuum between adversity and absolute hysteric euphoria.”
– Impose Magazine
Foxtails Brigade are thrilled to release their new self-titled album, out today, April 8th on OIM Records. Produced in the Bay Area by Jeff Saltzman (Blondie, The Killers), this record marks the Oakland-based band’s third full-length LP, but serves as a cohesive statement of who they are and the direction they’re headed. Baeble stated that the record “propels itself forward on the airy but piercing voice of Laura Weinbach, soaring almost vaudeville-esque strings, and a sound that combines Sondheim-esque theatrics with contemporary pop intimacy.” Foxtails Brigade is also out now in Japan on Rallye, and is currently streaming in full on Baeble. The band recently celebrated with a record release show at Swedish American Hall in San Francisco and are now on the road in the midst of a month-long April tour.  Upcoming tour dates below.

Foxtails Brigade sees the band expand upon a sound that has earned them praise for their “gorgeous storybook approach to orchestral indie pop” (Indie Shuffle), and what the San Francisco Chronicle describes as “a timeless feel,” that “experiments with modern compositions, keeping the music firmly grounded in the present.”
While the group’s previous material, fueled by hazy chamber-folk melodies and spectral strings, reached inwards, Foxtails Brigade detonates their sound in all directions. Bringing together a collective of Bay Area artists including singer/guitarist Laura Weinbach, arranger Anton Patzner (Bright Eyes, Pinback), multi-instrumentalist Josh Pollock (John Kale, Van Dyke Parks), bassist Joe Lewis and percussionist / filmmaker Dominic Mercurio, the group’s “fully realized” lineup employs a vast kaleidoscope of peculiar percussion and newfound synthesizers alongside Patzner’s cinematic arrangements and Weinbach’s distinct guitar figures. Working with veteran producer Saltzman, Foxtails Brigade celebrates a newfound sense of directness and clarity without sacrificing an ounce of intricacy.
Keep posted for further news in the coming weeks.
