FML will begin filming in April for a summer release

 

LOS ANGELES – April 1, 2016 – FML, the upcoming online film from Digital Riot Media, will begin shooting in April with an all-star cast from both traditional and new media including Vine stars Jason Nash and Brandon Calvillo, who together have more than 8 million followers on the platform.

 

This road-trip comedy marks the second feature film for Nash (Jason Nash Is Married), who also penned the screenplay and will direct.  Nash is expected to be joined by TJ Miller (Deadpool, Silicon Valley), comedian Patton Oswalt (The Goldbergs, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Ken Marino (Wet Hot American Summer, Role Models), Andy Daly (Review, Silicon Valley). Digital Riot Media CEO John Baldecchi, producer of the 2015’s Point Break, will produce alongside Kevin Herrera, under Herrera’s new banner moopsy.  Jason Nash is represented by David Martin at Avalon Entertainment.

 

FML (F*** My Life) follows two social media celebrities who comprise a comedy “odd couple” — a married adult (Nash) and a teenage virgin (Calvillo) – teaming up for a cross-country journey from L.A. to NYC, stopping along the way to shoot what they hope will be “bangers” (viral videos) with other popular stars. Nash’s character is desperate to get to the 1 Million follower mark in the hope of rescuing his family’s financial situation while Calvillo simply wants to hook up with a seemingly vapid female Influencer in New York who’s been flirting with him online.

 

Jason Nash says “FML is about my experiences on Vine and the wild world of social media. It’s an exploration of the immense power technology has handed millennials and yet how many have never felt more alone.  It also has a fair amount of dick jokes.”
