Hiromi is a Japanese pianist and composer who launched her debut album over a decade ago, back in 2003. Her creative energy encompasses the boundaries of jazz, classical and pop parameters, taking improvisation and composition to new heights of complexity and sophistication.
Born in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka in 1979, Hiromi’s piano lessons started when she was only 6 years old when she enrolled in the Yamaha School of Music. After moving to the U.S. in 1999, she extended her artistic abilities at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Hiromi: The Trio Project consists of her own musical talent, along with contrabass guitarist Anthony Jackson and drummer Simon Phillips. This dynamic group will be gracing South Florida with its’ talents this April as part of the Bailey Hall Presents performing arts series by Broward College.
