The First Brass of Sarasota brings world class vocalist Johanna Fincher to perform with the 15 piece brass ensemble in a concert titled “Comin’ to America” on March 20, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Fellowship Hall, 1301 Center Road, Venice, Fl.

Gary Reinstrom, Bob Moore, Cheryle Naberhaus, Marina Pope Horns-a-Plenty The First Brass new ensemble, Horns-a-Plenty, debuted at the Annual Flower Festival and English Tea on February 20 at the Church of the Nativity is Sarasota. They played Blessing and Honor from Handel’s Messiah, Excerpt from Der Freischutz and and It Is Well with My Soul. Ah, the wonderful sounds of a French horn times four. You can’t beat it. This group is available for any event. The show included jazz and dixieland music, such as Sugar Blues, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, When the Saints Come Marching In, and Sharon sang Swing Low, Sweet Chariot and Ain’t Misbehavin’, just to name a few. This is your editor’s favorite show of the year. It is music that the audience and musicians equally enjoy. We are looking forward to next year when we can do it again. |
The First Brass continues to collect used cell phones for the national organization “Cell Phones for Soldiers”. These phones are converted into calling minutes for our military personnel. Bring your old phones to any of our concerts. |
