Sex Ed as Moral Education
|
In the context of the history of “sex ed,” Dr. Lamb presents data and theory on sexual development, and describes developing a “sexual ethics” curriculum for 9th grade classrooms, and what happened when they attempted to teach it. Given current discussions across not only college campuses but K-12 education about sex/gender discrimination, legal requirements of Title IX, and cultural anxiety about the purposes and content of “sex ed,” this presentation touches on important and sensitive topics.
