Boston MA, October 7, 2014-Hub Theatre Company of Boston will close its critically acclaimed second season this November by once again joining up with the region’s most famous playwright Israel Horovitz for the Boston premiere of 6 Hotels. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2:00pm from Friday, November 7 through Saturday, November 22 at Club Cafe, 209 Columbus Ave, Boston.
Hub Theater Company of Boston was founded in 2012 to foster creativity among Boston’s emerging theatre artists and as a means to help break down barriers between audience and art. As such, all tickets to all performances are Pay-What-You-Can. In addition, at each performance donations of personal hygiene products and toiletries will be collected for local charitable organizations.
In this Boston premiere, four actors play 22 characters in six separate stories that intersect and overlap in various hotel bedrooms, restaurants and bars. It is a humorous and heartrending mix of art, love, politics, comedy and drama which reveal the all too human struggle to find and forge meaningful connections.
Hub Artistic Director John Geoffrion and Hub Literary Manager Daniel Bourque direct a quartet of Boston’s finest actors; Lauren Elias, Johnnie McQuarley, Ashley Risteen and Matthew Zahnzinger in these riveting and revealing snapshots of humanity at its best and its worst.
Born in Wakefield MA, Horovitz has penned such plays as Lebensraum, The Indian Wants the Bronx, Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, It’s Called The Sugar Plum, and The Widow’s Blind Date. His accolades include several Obies and Drama Desk Awards, numerous international awards and an honorary doctorate. He is the founding artistic director of Gloucester Stage Company. He is also the writer/director of the recently released hit movie, My Old Lady starring Kevin Kline and Maggie Smith.
