Review of 93.3 FLZ’s Jingle Ball 2017 is part of the national iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour Presented by Capital One in Tampa, FL.  December 16, 2017

Amalie Arena packed in just under 10,000 fans, with glow necklaces and bracelets, for Jingle Ball 2017 in Tampa. The featured artists, in order of appearance, included: Why Don’t We, Sabrina Carpenter, All Time Low, Nick Jonas, Liam Payne, Camila Cabello, Charlie Puth, and Zedd. The performers put on a great show and the entire event was just long enough to be very pleasant.

Why Don’t We, the 5-member boy band, made a brief appearance as the opening act, followed by Sabrina Carpenter with her angelic voice and sexy, energetic style. She sang two of her songs On Purpose and Why and then mixed in a Christmas favorite. All Time Low then performed their punk-rock style songs Something’s Gotta Give and Last Young Renegade. The fans were singing, clapping, and cheering throughout the entire event, but were especially excited during Nick Jonas and Liam Payne’s performances. Nick Jonas had the girls screaming and cheering while he performed Close, Home, and Jealous. He was definitely the heartthrob of the evening. Payne and his dancers came in a close second when they nailed Strip That Down, Get Low, and Bedroom Floor. The fans went crazy over Payne’s British accent and his sensual dance moves.

Solo artist, Camila Cabella, worked the crowd with her hit song Havana, wearing a fashionable white shirt with a red vest and black stilettos. Her two back-up dancers were spirited, flirtatious, and wild. She definitely proved that breaking off on her own, from Fifth Harmony, was not a bad move. Charlie Puth was laid back and dressed in his usual basic garb, behind his piano throughout most of his performance. The crowd sang along with his songs One Call Away and See You Again. The fans were still just as loud and captivated as EDM DJ Zedd concluded Jingle Ball 2017 with his lights, progressive house music, confetti, and pyrotechnics.
