Reaching a Mote Expert

We encourage members of the media to meet in person with Mote experts and, when possible, to join us in the field as we conduct research projects. If you are a member of the media covering marine topics, the best way for you to connect with Mote experts is to contact a member of the Communications staff who can help make these connections happen.

Just for Fin

Ribboned pipefish are relatives of seahorses and are a rare animal to see on exhibit. Mote aquarists are breeding them as part of our Seahorse Conservation Lab.

Mote’s Funny Video is Tourism Marketing Award Finalist

“If you make contact with jellyfish within an hour of eating peanut butter, they will die instantly.”

Summer Camps in Full Swing at Mote

Spots Still Open for Small Fry and Middle Schoolers

Kids are getting into something fishy at Mote Marine Lab: Ocean-themed summer camps are in full swing, and spots remain open for pre-K and middle-school campers.

Campers can discover the wonders of marine animals and environments studied by Mote scientists. Programs are filled on a first-come, first-served basis and spots are claimed quickly, so please register as early as possible. Registration deadline is noon on the Wednesday prior to the week of camp.
