BET & TQ PREMIERES MUSIC VIDEO
BET partners with platinum R&B recording artist and songwriter TQ to exclusively premiere a brand new music video for his soulful comeback single “Coming Home.” BET praises the “distinctively West Coast vibe of “Coming Home” finding TQ expanding his zone while staying in his pocket.”
Produced by Damizza, “Coming Home” is the title track and first single from TQ’s forthcoming coming album via independent Baby Ree/Rose Lane/The HUB Muzic. The music video, written by TQ and directed by Mr. Criminal of Hi-Power Entertainment, tells an intriguingly raw story about a man about to be released from jail amid rumors that his girl was cheating on him. “Coming Home” is a first look into TQ’s television series currently in pre-production called “Brothers.”
“Coming Home is a bridge musically between where I’ve been and where I wanna go,” states TQ. “The funk inspiration is definitely West Coast and the lyric and melody comes from the soul, which is where I started. It stays real throughout. The video is a part of a full series entitled “Brothers” that I’m writing at the moment. I’m giving my fans a look into it as its being created at my Blog at http://therealtq.com/blogs/thugpoetry/.”
Last month, TQ hosted an exclusive listening event at Couture in Hollywood where guests were also treated to his debut performance of new material from his forthcoming Coming Home album alongside classic hits like “Westside” and “Better Days.” ThisIsRNB proclaimed that TQ is “back to making meaningful music” and is “making a major comeback.”
With his innovative iTQ app, TQ directly plugs into his fans to deliver brand new content to fans instantaneously. Now available in real time are all previous album releases, new merch items and exclusive live performance footage. Along with his new Legendary 2.0 EP (via Baby Ree Records), past fan favorite singles like Top 40 hit “Westside,” cover song performances, and other bonus features are also included. ARTISTdirect exclaims that the “Compton R&B troubadour returns with app, EP and album for a one-two-three combo of dopeness.”
With hit singles “Westside” and “Better Days,” Compton crooner TQ established himself as an R&B singer with a rapper’s musical sensibility. Subsequent work with Lil Wayne, Juvenile, Baby and the Cash Money Records roster solidified TQ as a creative force who carved a lane for himself amongst his A-List collaborators.
With acclaimed They Never Saw Me Coming LP, his lead single “Westside” catapulted TQ to international fame. In addition to being a Top 15 hit in the United States, it was a Top 10 single in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and New Zealand. Subsequent singles “Bye Bye Baby” and “Better Days” helped pave the way for TQ to sign with Cash Money Records.
While with the New Orleans-based label, he wrote and was featured on a string of gold and platinum albums, including Big Tymers’ Hood Rich, Lil Wayne’s 500 Degreez, the Baller Blockin’ soundtrack; Birdman’s Baby aka #1 Stunna, Juvenile’s Project English and Hot Boys’ Let ‘Em Burn, among others.
Today, the R&B veteran has established himself independently on Baby Ree Records and has made time to get back to making meaningful music. TQ has cooked up a lot of exciting new projects, including his new application iTQ, the Legendary 2.0 EP, the Coming Home LP, a relaunched therealtq.com website, a revamped live show with fresh new songs and visual components, and many others to be announced soon.
