ALBUM DEBUTS AT #5 ON THE BILLBOARD 200

Los Angeles, CA (April 16, 2014) – Black Label Society made a major debut this week with their highly anticipated new album Catacombs of the Black Vatican scoring #1 on the Independent chart, #1 on the Rock chart and #1 on the Metal chart, in addition to debuting at #5 on the Billboard 200. The album, released April 8 on Entertainment One Music (eOne Music), also marks the highest chart position ever for the band in the UK and most of Europe, and made an impressive #4 debut overall in Canada. Catacombs of the Black Vatican is the band’s first studio album since 2010’s The Order of the Black, which debuted at #4 on the Billboard 200.
Since their late 90s inception, Black Label Society formed by Zakk Wylde has been featured at the forefront of their genre. Their taste for hard riffs and blazing solos has resulted in a slew of hugely successful albums and a reputation as one of the most powerful live bands of their generation. Wylde, who has been called one of the true guitar heroes in modern history, served as Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist for over 20 years in addition to his work with BLS. This collaboration led to a string of multi-platinum albums including Osbourne’s biggest-selling “No More Tears” for which Zakk wrote all the music.
Black Label Society are returning to the road as headliners of the Revolver Golden Gods Tour, kicking off in Seattle, WA. The trek will take the band across the country and back, with a final date at the Fonda Theater in Los Angeles on June 7. Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde will also appear for a special performance at the 2014 Revolver Golden Gods Awards on April 23 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
