MIAMI (November 22, 2024) – The six times GRAMMY® award-winning Cuban artist Yotuel Romero, composer, producer, visionary, activist, and founding member of the acclaimed group Orishas, presents the new remix of “Prometo Olvidarte”, his latest collaboration with Spanish artist Mala Rodríguez, to which Dominican producer and artist Maffio now adds his unique touch in this new version. The song and the music video for “Prometo Olvidarte Remix” are now available on all digital platforms.
“Prometo Olvidarte” is the first official single from the new album the Cuban artist will release in 2025, and it clearly marks the path towards the sound of this album, deeply influenced by African music, from Afrobeat to Amapiano, reflecting Yotuel’s Nigerian roots, with fusion always as the common denominator. The artist himself has hinted that the album’s title could be “Afro Caribbean King.”
The song was written by Yotuel and Beatriz Luengo, along with Emmanuel Kelechi and Alean Imbert, renowned Nigerian artists, in a production that also includes Alejandro “Jimbo” Páez and Eduardo Figueroa, the minds behind hits like “Una y Mil Veces” by Omar Montes featuring C. Tangana. The track is masterfully performed by Yotuel and Mala Rodríguez, who brings her bars, flow, immense style, and overflowing sensuality to the mix. It also features the star collaboration of Cuban trumpet player Arturo Sandoval, a nine-time GRAMMY® winner and a true institution in Latin music. This new remix version adds a fresh new vibe to the beat, thanks to the stellar contribution of Dominican artist and producer Maffio. All of this creates an explosive cocktail that hooks listeners from the very first listen.
The music video, directed and created by Beatriz Luengo, is visually stunning, colorful, and full of sensuality, with an undeniable chemistry between Yotuel and Mala Rodríguez, creating something truly magical.
