WYNONNA
PREPARES TO HIT THE ROAD FOR BACK-TO-BACK TOURS
“A SIMPLER CHRISTMAS” TOUR KICKS OFF DECEMBER 3
“WYNONNA AND FRIENDS: STORIES & SONG” TOUR LAUNCHES JANUARY 14
WYNONNA is getting ready to hit the road for back-to-back tours this winter. As previously announced, the American music icon and The Big Noise–her three-piece band lead by her husband, producer and award-winning artist Cactus Moser–will again spread the holiday spirit while out on the “A Simpler Christmas” tour, kicking off December 3 in Springfield, OH. Following that December run, WYNONNA and the group will head back out for the “Wynonna and Friends” Stories & Song” tour, launching January 14, 2015 in Durham, NC. New “Stories & Song” dates have been added–including stops in Chicago, IL; Arlington, TX and Annapolis, MD–and all confirmed shows are listed below. Additional info, including where to buy tickets, can be found at www.wynonna.com.
“Every year I look forward to our Christmas tour,” says WYNONNA. “It’s so easy to get caught up in the perfectionism and the expectations that this time of the year often brings. My hope is that people can come to the show, forget about their ‘to do’ list and, for the time we are together, simply enjoy themselves.”
For the second year in a row, WYNONNA has decided to simplify and remind us of the real reason for the season. Coupled with her remarkable voice, infectiously positive spirit, warmth, compassion and genuineness, each night WYNONNA will deliver a one-of-a-kind holiday experience. She will perform some of her holiday favorites as well as her greatest hits.
Additionally, for the first time ever, WYNONNA will also embark on another special series of shows that she’s dubbed “Wynonna and Friends: Stories & Song.” This unique run of shows will emphasize an intimate and personal sentiment. Throughout her 30-year platinum career WYNONNA has experienced incredible moments–both good and bad–that influence who she is as not only an artist, but a mother, sister and daughter. WYNONNA is ready to share some never-before-heard stories that inspired the countless hits.
When asked why she feels now is the time for a tour like this, WYNONNA says, “I have shared the stage with some of the greatest singers and musicians in the world and I have recorded with artists from all genres of music. It has been an amazing journey for me. I’m an ordinary woman that extraordinary things have happened to because I choose to continue to suit up and show up where I am called. I am more passionate now than I have ever been about my life, my gift, my faith, hopes and dreams, and I want so much to share my story and my songs with my fans. I have experienced so many personal and professional highs and lows on this journey, and having been on the road for 34 years now, I am so grateful for the wisdom and experience I have gained throughout all that has happened on and off stage. I’m looking forward to sharing my message with others, to celebrate this time in my life with the fans that have supported me all these years, as well as connect with new fans.”
Beyond her extensive touring schedule, WYNONNA continues working with husband/producer/drummer Cactus Moser on solo material for her 8th studio album due out 2015 on Curb Records. She recently opened up to Rolling Stone Country about the direction the new music is taking, describing it as “vintage yet modern.” (7/9/14) The full interview can be read here.
The couple also recently released “Follow Me,” an original song exclusively for the film “The Hornet’s Nest” which features unprecedented real footage to tell the story of an elite group of U.S. troops sent on a dangerous mission deep inside one of Afghanistan’s most hostile valleys. They performed the powerful track on “Good Morning America” May 22; watch here.
