New York City Celebrates Maker Movement with Special Events for Makers
SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwired – September 15, 2015) – World Maker Faire, the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth, declares the week of September 21-27, 2015, as “Maker Faire Week.” Maker Faire Week leads up to World Maker Faire New York and will host an array of meetups, events, and opportunities for the global Maker community to gather, network, and learn as they advance themselves, their fields, and the Maker Movement. Maker Faire Week is September 21-27, 2015. World Maker Faire New York 2015 takes place at the New York Hall of Science in Queens, New York, on Saturday-Sunday, September 26-27, 2015.

- STEM Night: Makers Night
Wednesday, September 23; 5:00 pm — 8:00 pm; at the New York Hall of Science
Local New York City high school and college students will hear from Dale Dougherty, founder and executive chairman of Maker Media and co-founder of Maker Faire, and other local leaders in STEM fields and the world of making at this inspirational event. The event will be comprised of a mini career fair, activity session, panel discussion, Q&A session, and networking opportunities.
- MakerCon — The Conference for Makers by Makers
Thursday, September 24; 10:00 am — 8:00 pm; at the New York Hall of Science
MakerCon is the meeting place for passionate entrepreneurs who want to test the commercial waters for their prototypes; cultural and civic leaders driving Maker initiatives; and product developers inspired by the Maker Movement.
- Make: Education Forum @ Maker Faire
Friday, September 25; 12:00 pm — 5:00 pm; at the New York Hall of Science
Make: magazine and the New York Hall of Science will host an afternoon program focused on the leaders, influencers, and practitioners providing support, services, and programs to bring Making into schools.

Intel continues their Maker Faire involvement by returning as a Goldsmith Sponsor of World Maker Faire, demonstrating their commitment and support of the Maker community and the Maker Movement. A founding sponsor of the Maker Education Initiative, Intel is a proud, long-time supporter of STEM education and hands-on learning.
At World Maker Faire, Intel will feature a variety of hands-on learning activities and interactive demonstrations of inventions created with the Intel® Edison and Intel® Galileo development platforms. In addition, Intel will host Thud Rumble at World Maker Faire. Thud Rumble — world-famous musical artists, turntablists, and hackers of scratch DJ equipment — debuted to eager crowds at Maker Faire Bay Area 2015 and will build upon that experience for attendees at World Maker Faire. The crew from Two Bit Circus, whose carnival-style games make learning about STEAM topics engaging and fun, will also join Intel in New York. Advance pricing is available between now and September 25, 2015 ($25.00 — $35.00 for a single day pass; $35.00 — $65.00 for weekend passes).
