Tulsa Opera’s Staying Alive video series keeps the music alive amidst the shutdowns by bringing to viewers at-home performances from the company’s featured artists every week. Next Tuesday, baritone Jarrett Logan Porter, who made his Tulsa Opera debut this past season as Dancaïre in Bizet’s Carmen, sings “In the Still of the NIght,” from Cole Porter’s Rosalie. This is followed two days later by a performance from mezzo-soprano Kirstin Chávez, who has made multiple appearances at Tulsa Opera. Next Thursday’s video features her in one of her signature roles, Carmen, singing the famous “Habanera” aria.

Miró Quartet launches livestreamed Beethoven string quartet cycle,
presented by the Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival via OurConcerts.live
Continuing the worldwide celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, the Miró Quartet will come together in-person for a four-week, twelve-concert, livestreamed performance cycle of the composer’s sixteen string quartets and Grosse Fuge. The complete cycle, starting with the Opus 18 quartets next week, will be broadcast live from a private performance space modeled after Tuscan architecture in the Quartet’s home city of Austin, TX, and the video feed will be professionally produced in real time, with multiple camera angles and high-quality sound.
