Pitchfork TV invited Neon Indian to cover a Prince song for them, and in turn Neon Indian’s Alan Palomo invited a bunch of his friends to join him in the studio for a rousing version of “Pop Life” including Kristin Kontrol (aka Dee Dee of Dum Dum Girls), Holy Ghost!, Young Ejecta, Adeline of Escort, Hannah Cohen, Xenia Rubinos and Midnight Magic.
A few days after Prince’s death, Palomo was asked by The Guardian to write an essay about Prince, obviously one of his all-time heroes and musican inspirations, you can read the essay, titled “Prince, the purple unicorn” here.
