Vocal powerhouse MEGHAN LINSEY—season 8 runner-up of NBC‘s hit singing competition “The Voice”–teams up with POPMATTERS.COM to unveil her new pop/soul EP BELIEVER in its entirety before the EP’s official release tomorrow (7/31) via iTunes and everywhere else digital music is available.
The six-track EP–news of which was announced exclusively on ETONLINE.COM (7/20)–showcases LINSEY‘s dynamically soulful vocals and emotionally charged songwriting. It was recorded in Nashville and produced by Tyler Cain (Ashley Monroe, James Otto). ROLLINGSTONE.COM last week premiered “Sunshine in My Soul” and noted: “Meghan Linsey transports listeners to New Orleans within the first 10 seconds of her new song, ‘Sunshine in My Soul’…the singer-songwriter’s voice packs its own one-two-punch with rasp and a range reminiscent of iconic soul singers of the Sixties.” (7/24) In addition, YAHOO! MUSIC revealed “Counterfeit” last week (7/24), with Lyndsey Parker praisingthe song as a “feisty-filly track” and noting that, “Meghan Linsey’s ‘Counterfeit’ is the real deal.” Additionally, ARTISTDIRECT.COM debuted BELIEVER‘s “This Side of Heaven,” with Amy Sciarretto raving, “it’s a feel-good and uplifting anthem and it’s one of our favorite songs of 2015. MEGHAN–who began her career as one half of acclaimed country duo Steel Magnolia–just a few weeks ago wrapped up season 8 of NBC’s hit singing competition “The Voice.” She debuted her original single “Change My Mind” (which sold more than 50,000 downloads in its first week)on May 18, 2015 during part one of the show’s finale.
