Tomorrow’s World is proud to announce the premiere of their exquisite video for “Inside,” directed by Gauthier Flauder.   It is a perfect combination of fluid, flowing images of bodies, how they reflect and move while immersed in water accompanied by a musical heartbeat pulsating endlessly.  “It’s about unconditional love, so it’s a song for everyone,” says Lou Hayter (one half of Tomorrow’s World, the other half being Jean-Benoît [JB] Dunckel of Air), who’s soulful and dream-like voice contributes to the fluidity and femininity represented on screen.

The track was fully visualized by Gauthier Flauder, the director, who had written a reflective short film. He was inspired to make this film after exploring the idea of a woman searching for herself in the mirror and the resulting interest in the mirror’s reflective capabilities with the surface of water. He notes “what is it about breaking through to the other side that is so intriguing? What is there beyond the hard defining edge of the mirror? What might we find if we choose to explore beyond the surface?”

After the film was shot, Flauder heard “Inside.”  His discovery of JB’s and Lou’s music and Lou’s voice was a revelation. He instantly fell in love with the track and knew that the film and song belonged together. It was love at first sight.  He adds “My images had found a musical home that gave them a depth, resonance, and meaning that they had been unknowingly looking for.”

The film was a culmination of years of working with water; the techniques and effects discovered through many other working experiences, but this piece of work stands alone and goes further. Just like the images in the film, he was able to pierce the surface and take a look at what was to be found on the inside.

Named for a long-running British technology show and comprised of Lou Hayter (ex-New Young Pony Club) and Jean-Benoît (JB) Dunckel (one-half of Air), Tomorrow’s World’s foundation was laid when the duo met in 2010.  JB heard Lou’s solo band The New Sins and liking what he heard, asked her to work with him. The duo’s self-titled debut arrived in April 2013 comprised of cinematic love songs– informed, they say, by the likes of Factory Floor, Angelo Badalamenti and Lil Louis.
