Venice Theatre Guild bringing Lotela Gold to the MainStage on Monday, Oct. 13, with the songs and harmonies of the ‘50s and ‘60s

(Venice, FL) Lotela Gold, a vibrant nine-member show band will make their Venice Theatre debut on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 when the Venice Theatre Guild wraps up its 2014 Summer Concert Series. The concert is at 8 p.m. and tickets are $20. They are on sale now at the theatre’s box office, by phone at 941-488-1115 or online at www.venicestage.com. Proceeds benefit the Theatre Guild’s scholarship program.

Lotela Gold is a ‘50s and ‘60s Rock and Roll band featuring the tight harmonies so characteristic of the era with tributes to Elvis, Sam Cooke, Buddy Holly and many others. Costume changes, along with a little humor and unexpected guests keep it all fresh – and audience participation makes it fun.

The band members are Jimbo Fann, Bass/Vocals; Dennis Johns, Vocals; Bonnie Johns, Vocals; Butch Gallimore, Vocals/Percussion; Howie Godwin, Vocals/Keyboard; Chad Johns, Vocals; Brian “Country” LaFlam, Drums; Sharon Cawley-Cornine, Lead Guitar/Vocals; Angie Saunders, Vocals and Eddie Webber, Drums.

The summer oldies concerts are an annual tradition of the Venice Theatre Guild. What started as one show per summer has now grown to a full-fledged series of four shows.

The Summer Concert Series is the sole source of funds for the Theatre Guild’s scholarship program which every year provides tuition support to dozens of students who wish to participate in Venice Theatre performance and technical theatre classes, summer Theatre Camps, internships and Summer Stock.

Venice Theatre is located at 140 W. Tampa Ave. on the island in Venice. Summer box office hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays and one hour before all performances.
