Venice Theatre and Loveland Center have been partnering for 20 years to provide adults with developmental disabilities the chance to grow and learn through theatre study. This year’s MainStage show is a tribute to the Grand Ole Opry!
Students portray stars like Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood as well as Grand Ole Opry pioneers like Hank Williams and Pasty Cline. The script gets to the heart of country music as the contemporary singers reflect on how they’ve been influenced by those who came before.
Songs, skits, dances and more will be sure to make you laugh and cry. Becky Holahan, who wrote the script and directs the show says, “The Loveland Players put on the best show in town. Don’t miss this year’s tribute to country music!”
Loveland Center student Dorota Smoszzwnska (left) says:
“Being a part of the Loveland Players is fun, it’s my first time participating and I love the play. I play Minnie Pearl and there are some parts where I do line dancing and square dancing. I like to work with Becky and the volunteers and I’ve learned a lot. I like being on stage!”
