“Sheer essence and showmanship is indisputably prevalent in the galloping and infectious alt-pop duo’s breezy aesthetic” –Pop Dust
“The kind of music that nods to the past while looking into the future. And it works.” – All Things Go
New Orleans alt-pop duo TYSSON has premiered their video for “Lost In The Light” via USA Today. PRESS HERE to watch the kaleidoscopic video which features a stunning protagonist who escapes off into the light in pursuit of a fresh start. The track, which is decorated with euphoric synth and shimmering guitar riffs, is one of four songs included on their forthcoming, self-titled debut EP out September 30th. “Lost in the Light” comes on the heels of the release of commanding lead single “Bigger” and provocative, 80’s-tinged track “Go Down.” TYSSON will take their new EP to the stage for a very special set at the Pretty Lights after show on October 27th at Cervantes in Denver, CO-for ticket information, log-on to www.TYSSONBand.com.
New Orleans born and bred musicians, John Michael Rouchell (vocals and guitar) and Alvin Ford Jr. (drums, percussion, vocals) crossed paths by chance at NOLA’s famed Jazzfest Gala. Discovering their shared obsession with 80’s pop/R&B, modern hip-hop/R&B and 1950’s noir film aesthetics, John Michael, formerly of the band MyNameIsJohnMichael, and Alvin, an in-demand session and live drummer (Pretty Lights, Dumpstaphunk, Dr. John, Dirty Dozen Brass Band), pulled from their past experiences to create TYSSON. A group whose name aims to provoke evocation in deference to Cicely the accomplished actress and Miles Davis muse, and the boxer Mike, the tough exterior covering a fragile and broken core.
