Two comedies about love and marriage officially open at the Shaw Festival starting Friday

Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON (June 6, 2014) — The Shaw Festival officially opens two productions centred on love and marriage beginning tonight at the Royal George Theatre with When We Are Married, the J.B. Priestley comic take-down of English middle class pretension featuring Shaw Festival talents Patrick Galligan, Kate Hennig, Claire Jullien, Catherine McGregor, Thom Marriott and Patrick McManus. The festivities continue tomorrow eveningat the Festival Theatre with the opening performance of Philip Barry’s The Philadelphia Story, a celebrated and sophisticated take on class distinctions, the emergence of tabloid journalism and the rocky road to love and marriage, featuring Moya O’Connell as the iconic Tracy Lord, Gray Powell, Patrick McManus, Fiona Byrne and Sharry Flett.
