Art on the Harbor This Weekend

Local Art Show is part of Artlandish Weekend

This year’s Art on the Harbor art show, coordinated by Charlotte Arts, the local arts and humanities council, boasts nearly 50 artist and authors who will be exhibiting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, harborside at Four Points by Sheraton in historic Punta Gorda.

The 2nd Annual Art on the Harbor event will give Charlotte County and other Southwest Florida artists and authors the opportunity to showcase their latest work. Event-goers will have the opportunity to purchase beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces of art and books for either themselves, their offices or as holiday presents. Traditional art work in oil, acrylics, and watercolors will be available, along with photography, stained and fused glass, pottery, beaded work, jewelry and more. Local authors will also be in attendance. There will be live entertainment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Art on the Harbor, featuring Chris G. performing from 10:00 to 11:30, Mike Hirst playing from 11:30 to 2:30, and Doug Coventry from 2:30-5:00.

The 2nd Annual Art on the Harbor art show is part of Punta Gorda’s Artlandish Weekend, November 14 and 15. Other Saturday events include iHeart Media’s International Food Fare, plus the Downtown Punta Gorda Merchants Association’s Farmers Market, the annual Holly Jolly holiday sale at the Visual Arts Center, and the Festival of Lights at Fishermen’s Village.  The Trolley will run on Saturday only from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with various stops to move people efficiently from event to event.  Plus, be on the lookout for the Artlandish Mayor…sure to make you smile.

Sunday’s festivities include the Farmer’s Market at the History Park, the second day of the International Food Fare, and opening night at the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.
