THE VILLAGE VOICE ANNOUNCES THIRD ROUND OF PARTICIPANTS
FOR THE EIGHTH ANNUAL
“CHOICE EATS” TASTING EVENT

New York, NY – The Village Voice announces its third round of restaurants for the eighth annual Choice Eats tasting event on Friday, March 13th. The 15 new restaurants announced today include: applewood, Baz Bagel & Restaurant, BOOMwich, Box Kite NYC, Calle Dao, Casa del Chef, The Gorbals, King Bee, Kuma Inn, The Meatball Shop, Mexico Lindo, Queens Comfort, Red Hook Lobster Pound, SCRATCHbread, and Tabata Noodle Restaurant.
These restaurants will join the previously announced 25 participants: 2 Duck Goose, 606 R&D, Ample Hills Creamery, Awadh, Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter, Brooklyn Kolache Co., Butter & Scotch, Casa Mono and Bar Jamon, Commerce Restaurant, The East Pole, Fletcher’s Brooklyn Barbecue, Gloria’s Carribean Cuisine, Huertas, John Brown Smokehouse, Littleneck, Luke’s Lobster,Mable’s Smokehouse, MAX, No. 7, The NoMad, The Queens Kickshaw, Robicelli’s, Spicy Pot, Thai Rock, Tuome and many more to be announced.
The event will feature an array of 50+ handpicked restaurants from all five New York City boroughs, and will take place from 6:00PM – 10:00PM at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
This year’s Choice Eats will feature three tiers of ticket options – General Admission tickets ($65), Early Entry Preview tickets ($85) and VIP tickets ($99). VIP tickets are now sold out, but General Admission tickets and Early Entry Preview tickets are still available for purchase. The Early Entry Preview ticket will allow guests to get a half hour head start on tasting and sipping, along with the ability to skip the line and beat the crowd. The VIP ticket will grant guests admission to the full event one hour early, with access to a private VIP room and an exclusive VIP gift bag. The Voice will also offer ticket buyers access to a limited number of Choice Eats/Choice Streets combo tickets for an additional 10% off savings. GA combo tickets ($115) are available until supplies last and will offer guests tickets to Choice Eats as well as the 4th annual Choice Streets Food Truck event at The Intrepid on May 5th with a sampling of 20+ of NYC’s more popular food trucks. All Choice Eats guests will be able to enjoy unlimited sampling of the best dishes from 50+ restaurants reviewed and heralded in the Village Voice along with desserts, complimentary craft beer pairings, wine and liquor beverages. Along with tasty samples, guests will enjoy music from DJ Jonathan ‘JC’ Clarke of Q104.3 NY.
Choice Eats will be accepting volunteer applications until February 27th to assist The Village Voice team on-site at the event. All volunteers will receive a free general admission ticket to The Village Voice’s 4th annual “Choice Streets” food truck tasting event on May 5th. This year marks the 7th year working with the non-profit organization Slow Food NYC as the charitable partner of Choice Eats, whom a portion of proceeds will be shared with.
