RANGERS TRADE OUTFIELDER CARLOS PEGUERO TO RED SOX
IN EXCHANGE FOR CASH CONSIDERATIONS
Peguero had been designated for assignment on May 20
Arlington, Texas – The Texas Rangers announced this afternoon that the club has traded outfielder Carlos Peguero to the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations.
The Rangers had designated Peguero for assignment on May 20 when the club recalled right-handed pitcher Phil Klein from Triple-A Round Rock. Peguero batted .186 with 4 home runs and 9 RBI in 30 games for Texas during his stint with the club from April 11-May 19. His 14 starts in left field for the Rangers remain a team high in 2015. He also played in 2 games with Round Rock to begin the season, going 4-for-6 in those contests. Peguero signed with Texas as a minor league free agent on January 29.
