WHAT: | After a decade as the host of one of television’s funniest and most insightful talk shows, Craig Ferguson will sign off from his Peabody Award–winning The Late Late Show on Friday, December 19. The Paley Center welcomes back Ferguson to reflect on TLLS, which he infused with tremendous energy and his unique brand of comedy—revealed nightly in his inventive monologues, his off-the-wall rapport with the “robot skeleton” Geoff Peterson and panto horse Secretariat, and his perceptive interviews with a wide range of guests. The Grammy and Emmy–nominated performer will be joined in conversation by the actor (Community), comedian, and screenwriter Jim Rash.
Craig Ferguson entered the world of late night comedy following a diverse and eclectic career that encompasses film, television and the stage. Since taking the helm of CBS’s The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson in 2005, the show has set all-time viewer records in the nine years that it has been on the air, garnered an Emmy nomination in 2006, and received the 2009 Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting for Ferguson’s interview with Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He was most recently heard on the big screen as he reprised his character ‘Gobber’ in “How to Train Your Dragon 2.” He also recently debuted as host on the new syndicated game show Celebrity Name Game, from executive producers Courteney Cox and David Arquette.
The event will be live streamed at paleycenter.org/live. The Paley Center will also be live-tweeting from the event as the evening unfolds via twitter: @PaleyCenter and #PaleyLive. Tickets are currently on sale. Further information and tickets to the program can be found at www.paleycenter.org.
