The Island Players, located at 10009 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria, is pleased to present the play, “Tribute”, by Bernard Slade. The show opens on Thursday, October 9th and runs through October 19th.
Performances are Tuesday – Saturday at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. tickets are $20 each. The Box Office opens on Monday, September 29th and is open from 9-1 on Mondays – Saturdays. On performance nights, the Box Office opens at 7:00 p.m. and for Sunday Matinees, it opens at 1:00 p.m. Visa, MasterCard or Discover are accepted.
“Tribute” is set in New York City and delights the audience with wry NY humor. Scottie Templeton, a popular actor, has spent his life shirking responsibility. When life deals Scottie a difficult blow, he attempts to reconnect with his estranged son. The cast is comprised of seven wonderful actors. Jim Faltot (Lou), Herb Stump (Scottie), Jennifer Eddy (Sally), Robin Rhodes (Maggie) and Chrissy Abdala (Hilary) are familiar actors whom the audiences at Island Players all know and love. Making their debutes on our stage are Mary Selke (Dr. Gladys) and Gilbert Ortiz (Jud), each accomplished actors in their own right.
Director, Gareth Gibbs, a resident of Wales, recently received the first ever “Life Time Achievement Award for Theatre in Wales and Beyond” from the Drama Association of Wales. We are delighted that Mr. Gibbs has returned to Island Players for his 8th Season as our Guest Director.

Auditions for our next play, “Regrets Only”, directed by Heiko Knipfelberg, will be held on Sunday, Oct. 12th at 7:30 at the theatre (10009 Gulf Drive, Anna Maria).
