The Future of Hydrogen Cars
Tonight on the PBS Newshour at 6pm on Detroit Public Television/Ch. 56 and across PBS
After more than a decade of experimenting, car makers are finally gearing up to release a new generation of hydrogen-powered cars in California. And while the state has made a serious commitment to exploring alternative energy, the cars still face an uncertain future. Scott Shafer, from KQED in San Francisco, explores the future of hydrogen-powered cars.
Over the past year, both DPTV and the PBS Newshour have continued to follow the emerging energy, future-of-cars, and transportation stories that are developing global. Earlier this year, we brought you our Advanced Mobility Project/Autobeat event and a full day of coverage of the future of energy from the Erb Institute at the University of Michigan’s Ross Business School. Tonight Newshour adds to this important storyline.
You’ll be hearing from us shortly on a new, full hour national documentary on energy and national security that is part of our Beyond the Light Switch series.
