DOH-Sarasota joins Sarasota County in Hosting Free Family 5K Walk/Run
Siesta Beach on Sept. 26
SARASOTA COUNTY – The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) and Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources are hosting a Free Family 5K Walk/Run event on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Siesta Beach, 948 Beach Road in Sarasota. Participants should meet at the Sea Turtle Pavilion at Siesta Beach. The race begins promptly at 8 a.m., rain or shine.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about Florida’s Healthiest Weight Initiative and the benefits of maintaining a healthy weight through regular physical activity. This event is part of the Florida Inaugural 5K Walk/Run events celebrating World Heart Day taking place in all 67 Florida counties on Sept. 26. Family Health & Fitness Day USA® is also observed that day.
