Manatee County Holds Large Scale Adoption Event
The first ever Manatee County-wide Adoption Expo will be held Saturday, August 1st and 2nd at the Bradenton Area Convention Center. Hours on Saturday are from 11am- 4pm and Sunday from 12pm – 4pm. Animal Services Director, Bill Hutchinson states, “If you are looking for a pet or want to learn more about pet care, this is the event you want to attend.”
Manatee County Pet Adopt-A-Palooza will be an expo style event,
designed to bring the community together as Manatee County works towards “Destination No Kill”.
Admission and parking are FREE and there will be over 100 adoptable
puppies, dogs, cats and kittens to choose from. All pets will be spayed or
neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. There will also be a Flyball Tournament demonstration, search and rescue demonstrations where trained dogs will simulate how they take down the bad guys, speakers on various topics and raffle drawings.
The event is pet friendly and the public is invited to bring licensed and
leashed dogs to help pick out their new pack members.
There will also be onsite vaccinations and microchipping and the
opportunity to sign up for low cost or free spay/neuter.
Manatee County license tags will be for sale and specialty retailers and fun pet vendors will offer pet related products and services. Local trainers will be on hand with live demonstrations, helpful tips and information. Additionally, local animal professionals will share their expertise on pet related topics including pet care and animal advocacy.
The public is encouraged to help feed hungry pets in our community by
bringing donations of dog or cat food.
