THE CRYSTAL METHOD are throwing the ultimate party in Las Vegas on June 17, 2014 when EDMBIZ AND ELECTRIC DAISY CARNIVAL CELEBRATE 20 YEARS OF THE CRYSTAL METHOD. The legendary Grammy Award-nominated, platinum-selling electronic music duo—Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland—will celebrate their 20th anniversary and kick off 2014’s third annual EDMbiz Conference & Expo with their first hometown show since the release of their new album The Crystal Method at the newly-opened Drai’s Beach Club.
This once-in-a-lifetime homecoming event promises an engaging, enigmatic, and epic set from the boys featuring a bevy of surprise guests. The show is free for EDMbiz badge holders and tickets will be available at the door for the public.
The evening marks the group’s triumphant return to Las Vegas where Jordan and Kirkland first met In 1988 while working at a Smith’s musicstore in Henderson, NV. By chance, Jordan found Kirkland running a drum machine on a break, and they retreated to Jordan’s home studio to begin cooking up their very first collaborations. The duo may have officially launched their career in Los Angeles, but for THE CRYSTAL METHOD, everything started in Las Vegas – which explains the meaning behind the group’s classic 1997 debut album, Vegas.
In January, they unveiled their self-titled fifth full-length studio album which vaulted to #1 on iTunes Top Electronic Albums Chart. The music bristles with the kind of artfully crafted soundscapes that solidified THE CRYSTAL METHOD as one of the most successful electronic music outfits in history. Upholding a tradition of celebrated collaborations, the duo of SCOTT KIRKLAND and KEN JORDAN also tapped a myriad of friends for the album/ Dia Frampton adds a sense of soul to “Over It,” while country star LeAnn Rimes lends her instantly recognizable and infectious pipes to the gorgeous “Grace.” Other dynamics come from the likes of Scars On Broadway’s Franky Perez (“Difference”), Le Castle Vania (“Storm The Castle”) and Miami’s Afrobeta (“After Hours”).
“It’s been two decades since this started, and electronic music has enjoyed a huge resurgence,” says Ken Jordan. “We wanted to reintroduce ourselves to the world here. The name itself signifies twenty years of doing this. It represents a great deal of hard work, fun, and rewards. It’s simply who we are.”Scott Kirkland adds, “Actually, we hate coming up with album titles, and it was just easier to call it The Crystal Method. It’s a Walter White-approved name!”
“When we started in Vegas it was still Tom Jones, Wayne Newton, and Frank Sinatra headlining on the strip,” adds Jordan. “It’s kind of funny that today its Steve Aoki, Tiësto and Avicii. If someone had told us that electronic music would be the biggest headlining attraction when we started, we would never have believed them”
This unique 20th anniversary party signals the dawn of a new chapter for the group, and celebrates The Crystal Method as a trailblazing act who paved the way for many of today’s top EDM artists. On June 17, they are carrying on this legacy as they ignite the third annual EDMbiz during EDC Week in the place where it all began.

In the film, THE CRYSTAL METHOD team with Detroit Motown legends Martha Reeves of the Vandellas and The Funk Brothers to create the R&B horn sassy and down-bass “I’m Not Leaving.” Their Grammy-nominated album Divided By Night, was released in 2009 and their most recent album, the self-titled The Crystal Method, was released in Januaray and debuted at #1 on itunes Electronic Album Chart.
