The Amarillo Symphony today announced the auditions for the 90thAnniversary season

AMARILLO, TEXAS – (July 21, 2014) – The Amarillo Symphony, (www.amarillosymphony.org), the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, announced today that the 90th season auditions will be held at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts in Amarillo, Texas. The auditions will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 and Sunday, August 24, 2014. All candidates must register for an audition with the Operations Director no later than Friday, August 15, 2014.

The Amarillo Symphony announces the following vacancies for the 2014-15 Season:

Violin 1, Chair 3 (one-year)

Violin 1, Chair 8

Violin 1, Chair 9 (one-year)

Violin 2, Chair 7 (one-year)

Violin 2, Chair 9

Violin 2, Chair 10

Cello, Chair 6 (one-year)

Cello, Chair 7

Cello, Chair 8 (one-year)

English Horn/Oboe 3

Horn 4

Principal Trombone

Bass Trombone

Principal Harp

Should the audition result in additional openings within a section, the audition committee reserves the right to name a winner for the vacated seat based on the auditions heard for the posted vacancy.
