2nd Annual Adopt-A-Palooza Returns to Manatee County
Palmetto, July 19 – The 2nd Annual Adopt-A-Palooza will be held, Saturday, August 6th at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Boulevard in Palmetto. Hours are 11am-4pm.
Manatee County Animal Services Division Chief, Sarah Brown states, “This year’s Adopt-A-Palooza is a one-stop adopt and shop event for residents of Manatee County and surrounding areas. It’s all the riches of our community resources under one roof. It’s a celebration of finding your new best friend and having happy, healthy pets.”
Adopt-A-Palooza is a pet adoption and expo-style event, designed to bring the community together as Manatee works towards “Destination No Kill”. Over 10 local rescue and animal welfare organizations will be joining forces with MCAS for the largest adoption event in Manatee County. Participating organizations include: Humane Society of Manatee County, Moonracer No Kill Animal Shelter, Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA, Nate’s Honor Animal Rescue, Royal Pet Rescue, Canine Castaways, Underdog Rescue, Humane Society at Lakewood Ranch, Almost Home, Gulf Shore Animal League and Animal Network.
Feld Entertainment’s Monster Mutt® Truck will be at the event for photo opportunities. Members of the Bradentucky Bombers roller derby are the event ambassadors this year. Peace River K9 Search and Rescue Association will be performing demonstrations throughout the day.
Admission and parking are FREE and there will be over 100 adoptable puppies, dogs, cats and kittens to choose from. All pets will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. MCAS adoption fees will be discounted. All adopters from Manatee County will be required to purchase a county license tag for $15. Specialty retailers will offer products and services to enhance every pet household.
