GOBBLE GOBBLE FOUR MILER 10/07/14
THANSGIVING DAY GOBBLE GOBBLE FOUR MILER BENEFITING ST. MATTHEW’S HOUSE AND 95210 KIDS ON THE GO IS A GREEN EVENT
The Gobble Gobble Four Miler is a family friendly annual event, taking place on Thanksgiving Day in beautiful Naples, Florida. As a cup free “Green Event”, it helps to promote sustainability and environmental impact awareness. 100% of the race’s proceeds go to benefit two charities.
St. Matthew’s House:
The mission of St. Matthew’s House (SMH) is to change lives in a spiritual environment that is both compassionate and disciplined, as well as providing housing for the homeless and food for the needy. A 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, SMH, along with Immokalee Friendship House, has been serving the homeless, hungry and hopeless in Collier County since 1987.
95201 Kids on the Go:
The Whole Foods Market Kids on the Go program was developed to help children fulfill the 1 hour physical activity portion of the NCH Safe & Healthy Children’s Coalition 95210 Let’s Go! Campaign. 95210 provides an easy way to remember how to lead a healthier lifestyle where 9 represents the number hours of sleep a child should get each day, 5 signifies the number of servings of fresh fruits and veggies one should consume each day; 2 is the maximum amount of screen time – TV/ video games – a child should view each day; 1 hour of physical activity as mentioned and the 0 reminds children to avoid all sugary beverages and tobacco products.
On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2014.
Start times are as follows:

The 1 Miler is a great fitness walk on a day you will likely overeat. There is also a Lil’ Gobbler’s Dash for younger kids up to age 6. We will also have a costume contest so be sure to come in full turkey day attire for a chance to win some fun prizes!”
The cost of registration includes a custom, high quality tech shirt. Those registering early enough will be getting hydrapouches (a unique drinking vessel for runners). The race has been capped to maintain quality for all participants.
Other area sponsors include Arthrex, Naples Daily News, Fit Nation Magazine, Natural Awakenings, Cabral Design Associates, Centurylink, John R Wood Properties and Tamiami Ford.
This event has helped to raise in the neighborhood of $150,000 for area charities since its inception. It will continue to do so for the great charities it represents through sponsorship, donations and registered participants.
