Tavares Waste Industry Driver Receives National Award for Safe & Exemplary Service
Greg Figueroa Named 2017 Driver of the Year by National Waste & Recycling Association
New Orleans (May 9, 2017) – Greg Figueroa, a driver for WCA in Tavares, Florida,, received a Driver of the Year Award from the National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) at a special awards ceremony today in New Orleans.
“The commitment that Greg has to providing quality and thorough training to the next generation of drivers is admirable and vital to the continuity of our industry,” said Kevin Kraushaar, interim CEO of NWRA, the trade association that represents the private sector waste and recycling services industry.
Figueroa, who has worked out of the same hauling site for 20 years, has an outstanding safety record on the road. Each week he drives an average of 950 miles on his route, with an average 40 pickups.
Figueroa’s customers are able to expect quick, prompt, courteous and safe service each time that he rolls on to the job site.
The awards ceremony in New Orleans is part of WasteExpo 2017 (www.wasteexpo.com), North America’s largest solid waste and recycling tradeshow.
