STREB Announces International Performances this September
from Paris to Abu Dhabi to Montclair, NJ
Brooklyn, NY: September 5, 2019 — The STREB Extreme Action Company opens this fall season with a worldwide tour, taking their unique blend of choreographed feats of physicality, scientifically planned chaos, strength, risk, grace, and elegance to audiences from Paris, Abu Dhabi and Montclair, NJ.
Paris, France — Fri, Sep 13-Sun, Sep 15, STREB will help celebrate the grand reopening of the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris after two and a half years of renovation work. In the spacious square in front of the City Hall of Paris, the theater will re-envision the seminal 1917 work Parade for the 21st Century. STREB will be part of the spectacle which will also include giant puppets from Mozambique and Stéphane Ricrodel’s Boite Noire.

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — Wed, Sep 18 – Fri, Sep 20, STREB will perform as part of the public programming at the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s major international exhibition Rendezvous in Paris: Picasso, Chagall, Modigliani & Co (1900-1939). Montclair, NJ — Tue, Sep 24-Sun, Sep 29, Peak Performances begins its 2019-2020 season with the joining of two revolutionaries of avant-garde performance, influential theater and opera director Anne Bogart and the pioneering choreographer Elizabeth Streb, in their first-ever collaboration, FALLING & LOVING. Co-produced by Peak Performances and created and performed by SITI Company (co-founded and co-artistic directed by Bogart) and STREB EXTREME ACTION (founded and artistic directed by Streb), FALLING & LOVING kinetically interprets writing by playwright and SITI member Charles Mee. https://www.peakperfs.org/event/falling-loving/2019-09-24/
