NEW YORK, NY (SEPTEMBER 1, 2017)  –  The first two episodes of STRANGERS, a new short-form series, will be available to audiences around the country Monday September 4 on Watch, Facebook’s new platform for shows. Launching Monday, with new episodes each Monday following, STRANGERS is a whip-smart exploration of the emotional, sexual and professional adventures of Isobel and Cam—two late twenty-somethings in LA, and the eccentric guests who impact their lives when Isobel rents out her spare room. STRANGERS is co-produced by Beachside and Refinery29.

STRANGERS is Mia Lidofsky’s directorial debut, introducing a fresh new storytelling voice having also created and written the series. The series stars Zoë Chao (Where’d You Go, Bernadette, The Comeback) and Meredith Hagner (Search Party, Veep, Louie), and is co-written by Jim Strouse (The Incredible Jessica James). STRANGERS showcases breakthrough young actors as it explores stories of life, relationships, labelless sexuality and millennials finding maturity. The brand new series will also feature guest appearances by Jemima Kirke (Girls), Shiri Appleby (UnReal), Breeda Wool (UnReal), Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords), Isabelle McNally (Before I Disappear), Langston Kerman (Insecure), and Leisha Hailey (The L Word).

Newly single and bisexual, Isobel (Chao) rents out her spare room in a last ditch effort to keep the home she loves. Along with her lesbian best friend, Cam (Hagner), she navigates the most complicated time in her life—emotionally, sexually, and professionally. As Isobel begins to share her life with a revolving door of colorful characters, their zany antics challenge her perspective and help open her up to a new way of looking at the world. From navigating her first relationship with another woman, to grappling with career dissatisfaction, Isobel ventures into uncharted territory with hilarity and sincerity.

STRANGERS is a compelling and relevant reflection on opening yourself up to life through a revolving door of new and different people in the most intimate of places: the home.

Having premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, STRANGERS launches its first two episodes “Honeymooners” and “Tinder Hearts” Monday, with one brand new episode premiering each Monday afterwards on Facebook.

Michael B. Clark, Alex Turtletaub, Jesse Peretz (Girls) and Mia Lidofsky served as Executive Producers on the series, with Celia Rowlson-Hall as Co-Executive Producer (as well as co-director [Ep. 3] and director [Ep. 5]). Amy Emmerich and Shannon Gibson from Refinery29 also oversaw production of the series as Executive Producers.
