The Sony Centre For The Performing Arts presents THE SCOTTISH TATTOO: THE MUSIC OF SCOTLAND, live on Thursday, January 29, 2015. Bringing the charm of Edinburgh to Toronto will be Scotland’s most talented musicians, bagpipe players, singers, and dancers.

A highlight to any Robert Burns celebrations, THE SCOTTISH TATTOO will carry audiences on a journey through Scotland in a show that is as stirring as it is varied. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo brings hundreds of thousands of spectators from around the world to Scotland every year, lucky for Toronto, THE SCOTTISH TATTOO is being brought to them!
Led by famed Music Director and Pipe Major, Steven Dewar, THE SCOTTISH TATTOO has an abundance of bagpipe players, drummers, musicians, singers and dancers representing the best of Scotland. No stranger to the entertainment industry, Steven Dewar has been playing the bagpipes since he was eight years old, having captivated world-wide audiences with his exuberant style for over 30 years, including at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens when he performed for the British Team, also entertaining Tony Blair and Princess Anne.
Sony Centre For The Performing Arts, Toronto’s first performing arts centre, has played a defining role in the cultural life of Toronto for more than 50 years. Today, the newly renovated Sony Centre’s mission is to unite the global citizens of Toronto through great artistic experiences. In addition, the Sony Centre is dedicated to developing Toronto’s younger audiences through family programming; workshops targeted towards school-aged audiences, an under-30 membership program, and other community initiatives.
