| April 10, 2015 – Los Angeles, CA – Singer-songwriter Alanna Clarke has released her passionate and emotive new single “Raw Emotion.” The song can now be streamed at AudioFemme or on the singer’s Soundcloud. “Raw Emotion” is the third release from Clarke in 2015. The songbird’s captivating soulful voice and powerful hooks have garnered praise from fans and critics all over the world.
“I realized that the person I was with was attached to the idea of me much more than the reality of who I am,” Alanna explained. “I could see all the things they wanted and how badly they wanted me to be that for them. I love the dynamics of this song, vocally and energy wise it’s a favorite of mine to perform live.”
Alanna Clarke’s music has been described as sultry, seductive and powerful, brooding with raw sentiment through her distinctive soulful voice and lush expanding production. With influences spanning from classic 60’s songwriters to early 90’s alternative rock female artists to the most bubblegum of pop songs, Alanna has infused a mix of genres into her music to become the artist she is.
Growing up an only child in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies fueled Alanna Clarke’s independent spirit from the start. It is here, surrounded by nature that she was inspired to begin writing songs & picking up the guitar and piano. At the age of 15 Alanna Clarke decided to pursue music full-time, finishing high school through distance learning. A demo was passed on by a friend at a music panel to songwriter Christopher Ward, (Best known for writing ‘Black Velvet’ by Canadian Artist Alanna Myles). Impressed by Alanna’s songs, Christopher contacted her and they started collaborating together where he quickly became a song writing mentor. With a cluster of songs in hand and her high school days behind her, Alanna set off to follow her dreams in music and hit the road on tour in her native Canada at the age of 18.
Now splitting her time between Toronto, LA and home (Cochrane, Alberta), Alanna, 23 years old, has worked with numerous producers and artists, to define her truly unique sound. Her songs touch on human experiences – life, love, loss and joy.
