The first season of SING IT! brings us through the ups and downs when a long-running executive producer is fired and a newcomer threatens to offset the balance between the show’s quirky contestants, duplicitous executives, and rollicking crew. Contestants will actually be eliminated from the competition at the end of each episode until the final two are left. Viewers at home will then get to vote to determine SING IT’s first season winner.
SING IT! features a cross-section of film, television and YouTube stars including Mircea Monroe (Hart of Dixie) Missi Pyle (Gone Girl), Debby Ryan (Disney Channel’s Jessie), Mark Sullivan (Guest of a Nation), Zack Weinstein (Glee) and Leah Lewis (The Voice Season Four contestant). The series will also feature real life music couple Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo who appeared on American Idol. Guest stars include Sasha Pieterse (Pretty Little Liars), YouTube stars Sam Tsui, Todrick Hall and Tim DeLaGhetto and many more.
SING IT! debuts new episodes weekly on YouTube Red, starting May 25, 2016.
About SING IT! – THE SHOW BEGINS! (Premiere Episode)
Welcome to the world of Sing It! A long running singing competition show goes through a regime change right at the start of a new season, but producer Stacey’s (Mircea Monroe) expected takeover of “Sing It” is ruined when devious network executive Marcy (Missi Pyle) introduces indie filmmaker Drew (Mark Sullivan) as the new executive producer. Aware that if he fails she can swoop in, Stacey reluctantly helps Drew acclimate to the show. She introduces him to the vibrant cast and crew of the show, including the self-obsessed and sexually ambiguous host, Troy (Preston Jones), the miniature and feisty stage manager, Kali (Laura Harrison) and narcissistic judges Holli (Debby Ryan) and Barry (Alex Desert), along with a colorful group of contestants.
