Showing Solidarity in Crisis, Over 30 Central Florida Community Organizations Unite as “Somos Orlando”Coalition launches information page for Hispanic community including resources and volunteer opportunities with partner organizations
Orlando, Fla.– As the names of the victims from Sunday morning’s devastating attack during Latin night at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando are released, the local Hispanic community braces for extreme loss among its friends and families, with an overwhelming majority of victims being of Latino descent.
Over 30 Central Florida organizations uniting as “Somos Orlando” joined together for a solidarity press conference Monday, providing support, information, and access to resources for the local Hispanic community affected by this tragedy, including grief counseling services and volunteer opportunities.
The coalition has launched SomosOrlando.info as a resource for Latino families as well as opportunities for bilingual volunteers.
Organizations or individuals wishing to share information on the group’s page can contact Christina Hernandez at [email protected].
