Visit Sarasota County voted Sports-Friendliest Vacation Destination

SARASOTA, Fla. (July 7, 2014) –Sarasota County (VSC) was voted Sports Events Magazines’ Sports-Friendliest Vacation Destination today. Voters were encouraged to vote hourly and to provide reasons why Sarasota was deserving of this award. The mixture of beaches, shopping and dining combined with excellent sporting event venues and service were factors in the win. VSC received more than 1,000 votes.

“We are thrilled to have this honor,” says Nicole Rissler, Director of the Sarasota Sports Commission. “We know that the presence of beaches, great dining and parks, arts and more are a selling point for many of the participants coming to the area for a sporting event. We are excited to know that others feel the same as we do.”
