Family Fun Run set for Sept. 7
SARASOTA COUNTY – Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources will host its fourth annual Pioneer Days Family Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7, on Dearborn Street in Englewood.

This free, one-mile fun run is open to the entire family this year. Children ages 17 and younger will receive a medal and popsicle upon completion of the run. Registration runs from 8-8:30 a.m., with the run beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. prior to the 59th annual Labor Day parade.
The start/finish line and on-site check-in will be located at the intersection of McCall Road and Dearborn Street. Participants will run down Dearborn Street to Old Englewood Road and back.
“This is a great opportunity for the family to get exercise, enjoy the thrill of a large audience and enjoy the parade and all of the festivities afterward,” said Wendy Aldridge-Dougherty, a parks/recreation specialist at Englewood Sports Complex.
Participants may pre-print registration forms at www.englewoodpioneerdays.com or call the Englewood Sports Complex at 941-861-1980 to register.
