‘Bandana’ kicks-off 2016 Sizzlin’ Summer Concert series
SARASOTA COUNTY –  Take a break from the heat and enjoy the cool rhythm and blues and classic rock of ‘Bandana’ at the Venice Community Center on Saturday, July 23, as Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources kicks-off the popular 2016 Sizzlin’ Summer Concert Series.
Each member of “Bandana” has many years of musical experience, singing both lead and backup vocals, translating into tight arrangements with crowd pleasing, melodic harmonies.
“We’re excited to invite the community to enjoy this popular band at our beautiful facility,” Venice Community Center’s Program Coordinator Dorian Hardy said. “You’re sure to have a fun, rockin’ time!”
The concert starts at 7 p.m., and a cash bar and food concessions will be available. The Venice Community Center is located at 326 S. Nokomis Ave., Venice.
Other concerts in the series include ‘One Night Rodeo’, winner of the nationally televised Next Great American Country Star competition, from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Nokomis Community Park Pavilion, 234 E. Nippino Trail, Nokomis.
The series concludes with the blues stylings of Steve Arvey, from 2-5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Woodmere Park Amphitheater, 3951 Woodmere Park Blvd., Venice.
Blankets, lawn chairs and beverages are welcome at the outdoor concerts, but glass is prohibited.
