Mad Hatter Kids’ Fun Run set for Sept. 1 

 

SARASOTA COUNTY  Sarasota County Parks and Recreation will host its 3rd Annual Pioneer Days Mad Hatter Kids’ Fun Run, Monday, Sept. 1, at 8:30 a.m. on Dearborn Street in Englewood.

 

This free, one-mile fun run is for children ages 17 and younger. Registration runs from 8-8:30 a.m., with the run beginning promptly at 8:30 a.m. prior to the 58th Annual Labor Day parade.

Parents may run alongside younger children.

The start/finish line and on-site check-in will be located at the intersection of McCall Road and Dearborn Street. Participants will run down Dearborn Street to Old Englewood Road and back. Popsicles and race medals will be presented after the race.

 

“This is a great opportunity for the kids to get exercise, enjoy the thrill of a large audience; and enjoy the parade and all of the festivities with their families afterward,” said Wendy Aldridge, of Englewood Sports Complex.
