Master gardeners’ annual plant sale,
EdFest set for mid-October 

  

SARASOTA COUNTY  Sarasota County Extension Master Gardeners will host the 10th Annual Plant Sale and EdFest, Saturday, Oct. 11, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Sarasota County Extension Office of the University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road, Sarasota.

Admission is free, and a wide variety of native plants will be available for sale, along with edibles, houseplants, succulents, tropical and unusual plants. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Master Gardeners’ Chapter of the Friends of Sarasota County Parks, which supports educational outreach programs in Sarasota County, including the new Demonstration Garden at the Twin Lakes Park Extension office. Plant purchases may be made by cash or check.

In addition to the plant sale, this family-friendly fall gardening event will feature kids’ activities and educational demonstrations about plants, insects, wildlife, and more in a festive atmosphere filled with music and entertainment.
