SaraSolo Festival Artistic Directors Ann Morrison and Blake Walton change hats and share their craft of cabaret singing; solo performance/play writing; story telling; stage presence and more in a series of workshops and performances during the week between the SaraSolo Festival Performance Weekends. Workshops and performances are held upstairs at The Starlite Room, 1001 Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota, at 7:00 pm on Tuesday through Friday, January 31-February 3. The finale is when their three “developing” ‘Flying Solo’ artists each perform a 20 minute version of their plays on Friday, February 3, at 7pm. Reservations are requested for workshops and performances email at [email protected]. Tickets are $15 for Flying Solo performance at www.sarasolo.org or at the door.

–Tuesday, January 31—Actress/Singer Ann Morrison’s Ann Morrison’s Cabaret Performance Master Class – Participants will work with Ann on a song with Theresa O’Connell. $10 donation at the door.
–Wednesday, February 1—SaraSolo Beyond! Sara-Duo, Introducing New Ideas, the two character play. Written and Performed by Ann Morrison and Blake Walton, a Play Reading of “Heard There Was A Party…Came” (a Beatrice Lillie play). Free to public. Reserve at: [email protected].
–Thursday, February 2—Actor/writer Blake Walton’s “That’s My Story And I’m Sticking To It” solo playwriting workshop. $10 donation at the door.
–Friday, February 3—Flying Solo Performances: Steve McAllister with ‘The Cowboy Cabaret’,

SaraSolo Festival 2017 is one of Sarasota’s most exciting new arts festivals.
