Whiskey Witches: Compelling Supernatural Series, Hailed a “Fast Paced, Intriguing Read” by Critics, Redefines Paranormal Fiction. Like Grit? Read On!

Masterfully crafted by S.M. Blooding, the ‘Whiskey Witches’ series follows the life of a female detective, the only non-witch in her family. Or so she thought, until she is kidnapped, possessed and given the key to a deadly demon plot. Readers are being thrown into an intricate and vast new paranormal world, where demons, religion, and shape shifters collide.

Denver, CO – While nobody will deny paranormal fiction’s recent surge in popularity, both readers and critics are currently crying out for wholly-unique new narratives that don’t succumb to recycling of the ‘same-old’ concepts. Thankfully, Colorado’s S.M. Blooding has stepped up to the plate with gusto, releasing a gritty and chillingly-realistic new series that throws the rule book out of the window.

‘Whiskey Witches’ unravels an entirely new take on angels and demons, as a series that melds drama, action and romance to blur the lines between good and evil.

Series synopsis:

For years, Detective Paige Whiskey has assumed she was the only Whiskey who wasn’t a witch. No powers. No abilities.

Until she’s drafted to investigate a rash of murders in Louisiana. There, she’s kidnapped, possessed, and has a spell cast into her bones. Her gift is reawakened and she discovers she is not only the demon summoner, but she’s also the key to a vast demon plot. But to what end?

Returning to her life in Denver, her old job, her old apartment, her old routine, she unearths a lot more than just demons and angels. A vast new world of paranormals is uncovered. With the demons still trying to use her for their own ends, she has to unravel the reason why the Whiskey Witches never knew of the paranormals’ existence.

“My goal from the outset was to give readers all the paranormal/supernatural hallmarks they crave, while shaking the genre up with something totally different,” explains Blooding, who ironically also spends her free time investing the paranormal with the Colorado Paranormal Rescue group. “Witches, demons, religion, shape shifters, and wider paranormal facets are still featured, but in a way that is much more gritty and realistic than the average novel in the genre.”

Continuing, “I won’t pretend it is a book readers can consume with half a heart but, for those brave enough to follow it through until the end, they’ll be left reexamining many elements of their own lives.”

Since its release, readers have come out in force with rave reviews. Jessica Arias Cooper comments, “Whiskey Witches Season 1 is a stunning group of connected episodes by one of my favorite indie authors, S.M. Blooding. It’s an intriguing battle of good versus evil where things are never quite as they seem. I love that this book isn’t all black and white. Just when I thought I had characters and their intentions figured out, a curve was thrown that drew me deeper into the story.”

Lynda Dickey adds, “This is a fast-paced, action-packed supernatural mystery. It starts quickly and is a wild rollercoaster ride of an adventure. It is hard to put down. This is the first book I have read by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
