STX Entertainment Names Kathy Savitt President, Digital
(Burbank, CA, September 11, 2015) – Robert Simonds, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of STX Entertainment, and Sophie Watts, President of STX, today announced that Kathy Savitt will join the studio as President, Digital beginning in October. In this role, Savitt will be responsible for STX’s global digital content strategy, helping the studio fulfill its ambition of becoming a true creative haven for the world’s top entertainment talent.
Savitt joins STX, where she will report to CEO Simonds with a dotted line report to President Sophie Watts. Savitt currently serves as the Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Media at Yahoo, Inc. At Yahoo, Savitt led the company’s global brand marketing, product and performance marketing, audience engagement strategies, as well as original editorial and video content across market-leading properties such as Yahoo News, Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Sports. She also led the editorial launch of over a dozen new digital magazines in addition to Yahoo’s original video programming, including the innovative Yahoo Live Nation partner- ship bringing the world’s best live concerts daily to Yahoo; the revival of fan fa- vorite Community; Paul Feig’s “Other Space”; and Mike Tolin’s “Sin City Saints.”

Savitt has spent a career at the cutting edge of digital strategy with more than 30 years of marketing, media, e-commerce, and executive leadership experience. Before joining Yahoo, Kathy was CEO of Lockerz, a company she founded in 2009 with the mission of revolutionizing the way Generation Z discovers and consumes content and products. Previously, Kathy was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. Prior to that, she served as Vice President of Strategic Communications, Content and Entertain- ment Initiatives for Amazon.com. Kathy currently is a member of the Board of Di- rectors of Alaska Air Group (NYSE: ALK). She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in history and government.
